Today, Qualcomm has unveiled its newest Snapdragon 450 chipset for midrange smartphone and wearable markets at Mobile World Congress, Shanghai. The previous system-on Snapdragon 400 series were manufacturer on 28nm process which means processor occupy larger space and not much efficient. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 is first chipset design on 14nm FinFet process to deliver significant improvement in graphics, battery life and compute performance better all-around experience.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 chipset packed with eight core high performance Cortex-A53 processor and Adreno 506 GPU which gives increase 25 percent performance as compared to its predecessor Snapdragon 435. The increase in performance of CPU and Adreno doesn’t effect on battery life, though snapdragon 450 offers up to extra four hours of power as compared to 435.
When it comes to camera, the Snapdragon 450 can handle more advanced camera system including support of for dual 13-megapixel camera or 21-megapixel for single. The device can support for 1920 x 1200 pixel full HD display as well as USB 3.0
According to Qualcomm that Snapdragon 450 will head out for production in Q3 and could be powering its first device in Q 2017.
